Rooms AI ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our app and services (the "Service"). By using Rooms AI, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
Rooms AI does not require traditional account creation or registration. When you first use the app, an anonymous account is automatically created through Firebase Authentication to secure communication with our servers. We do not collect your email address, name, or require any login credentials.
Rooms AI is an interior design app that redesigns rooms from your photos. When you choose a room photo (from your photo library or camera) and generate a render, that photo — along with any photos of furniture or items you place — is sent to our servers and then to our AI provider (Google) to produce your redesigned image. These photos are used solely to generate your render. We do not permanently store your photos on our servers; they are processed for the render and the result is returned to your device. We do not use your photos to train AI models.
Rooms AI Pro includes a feature that turns a furniture cutout into a 3D object on the Planning Canvas. When you use this feature, the cutout image is sent to our servers and then to our 3D-mesh provider, Replicate, to generate the 3D model. We do not use these images to train AI models. The generated 3D model is stored with your project like any other project data, as described below.
Your projects, room photos, placed items, and generated renders are stored locally on your device and synced through your personal iCloud account (managed by Apple). This lets your work stay available across your Apple devices. We do not have access to your iCloud data.
We maintain minimal server-side data limited to render counts, which are used to enforce usage limits and prevent abuse. This data is tied only to your anonymous account identifier and is not linked to your identity or the contents of your photos.
We also collect product analytics through PostHog to understand how people use Rooms AI and improve the Service. These analytics use the anonymous Firebase account identifier created for your installation as a pseudonymous identifier. They include app version and high-level actions and outcomes, such as onboarding completion, starting a design flow, adding a room photo or Cutout, creating a Placement, selecting a room type or style, using Planning Canvas controls, and whether a cloud operation completed, failed, was rate-limited, or required premium access. To help us understand navigation and diagnose problems, PostHog also automatically captures screen views, on-screen element interactions (such as taps on buttons and controls), app lifecycle events (such as launches and backgrounding), and automatic error and crash diagnostics. We do not send your name, email address, photos, Cutout images, renders, prompts, free-text guidance, or request or response bodies to PostHog.
We do not use session replay, screen recording, surveys, or feature-flag tracking in PostHog.

All your projects, room photos, placed items, and generated renders are stored locally on your device using SwiftData. If you are signed into iCloud on your device, this data is automatically synced to your private iCloud account via Apple's CloudKit. iCloud sync is managed entirely by Apple, and we have no access to your iCloud data. You can manage or disable iCloud sync for Rooms AI in your device's Settings > Apple ID > iCloud. Your iCloud data is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
We do not permanently store your photos or renders on our servers. We maintain minimal server-side data in Google Firebase Firestore limited to render counts for usage-limit purposes.
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information. We share information with the following third-party services solely to provide the Service:
We may also disclose information when required by law or to protect rights and safety, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets (with continued protection of your data under this policy).
Your local data is protected by Apple's device encryption and iCloud security infrastructure. Photos sent to our servers and to our AI provider are transmitted over encrypted connections (TLS). Server-side data in Firebase is encrypted at rest. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.

We do not permanently retain your photos or renders on our servers. Render counts in Firestore are maintained for usage-limit purposes and are not linked to the contents of your photos. Limited product analytics are retained only as long as needed to measure and improve the Service, subject to the retention settings of our PostHog project. Projects and renders persist on your device and in your iCloud account until you choose to delete them.
Rooms AI is not intended for anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you are a parent or guardian and have concerns, please contact us.
Your project data is stored in your iCloud account and may be processed in regions where Apple operates iCloud infrastructure. When you generate a render, your photos may be processed by Google in the United States or other regions where Google operates. When you use the 3D Furniture Preview feature, your furniture cutout images may be processed by Replicate in the United States or other regions where Replicate operates. Limited product analytics are sent to PostHog's EU-hosted service. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your information.
California residents have additional rights under the CCPA: right to know, right to delete, right to opt-out of the sale of personal information, and right to non-discrimination. We do not sell personal information. To exercise these rights, contact us.
